Lore[]
Paladins are holy warriors, guardians of the light who support the team with the strength of the faith. Paladins are united by a strong belief in the Goddess Dione and possess the power to bolster their allies. Those who choose the way of the Paladin ride into battle with the power of the gods inside them.
Ordained by the Goddess Dione and possessed with righteous fortitude, they're equally comfortable assaulting the enemy front line with the vanguard or supporting their allies from the rear.
"Cower before me in battle, for you cower before the Goddess' chosen."
Playable Races[]
The life of a Paladin requires not only great spiritual stamina, but great physical strength. Because of their robust nature, only Humans and Lykans have thus far been able to lead the life of a Paladin.
Playstyle[]
Traditionally, Paladins are a hybrid class able to perform the role of a tank, healer, or DPS proficiently enough to get the job done as needed. Paladins in DKO stay close to their traditionall role, able to focus either on on physical training to increase their tank and DPS abilities, or focus on clerical (white) magic to increase their healing and party support abilities.
Holy Wrath[]
The life of a Paladin requires not only great spiritual stamina, but great physical strength. Paladins channel divine energy into a combination of physical skills and spells to righteously subdue their enemies. There are two types of divine attacks employed by a Paladin: strikes and smashes.
Strikes | Smashes |
---|---|
Strikes deal holy damage using either the Paladin’s sword or shield to wound their target. |
Smashes are high-impact attacks that deal large amounts of holy damage and incur extra injuries on undead or demon targets. |
Other Spell Types[]
In addition to strikes and smashes, through meditation Paladins can learn to bolster their defenses and breathe divine life back into a fallen comade.
Armors | Resurrection |
---|---|
Armors temporarily increase the defensive power of the Palain or their target; some grant additional bonuses. |
Resurrection revives a friendly target, drawing them back from the jaws of death and giving them a second chance to fight. |
Stat Distribution[]
- Constitution
- Strength
- Wisdom
- Dexterity
- Intellect
Paladins focus on Constitution for an increase in their total health and health regeneration, with a significant secondary preference in Strength for increased physical attack power.
Some consideration should be given to Wisdom to increase mana regeneration.
Dexterity and Intellect should be altogether ignored by a Paladin, since they can naturally withstand significant damage and do not rely on magic.
Stat | Primary Benefit | Secondary Benefit |
---|---|---|
Strength (STR) | +1 Attack | +0.5 Critical |
Dexterity (DEX) | +5 Accuracy | +5 Dodge |
Constitution (CON) | +30 Maximum Health | +2 Health Regeneration |
Intellect (INT) | None | None |
Wisdom (WIS) | +5 Maximum Mana | +1 Mana Regeneration |
Skill Trees[]
The two Paladin skill trees can be categorized as Attack (left) and Support (right). The Attack tree focuses on direct damage and area-of-effect (AoE) skills; the Support tree focuses on party buffs and survivability skills. |
